The YMCA Running club presents the 1st Annual Couch to Resolution 5k. This 8 week training program is designed for people who are wanting to run their first 5k, or get back in running shape. Run with Coach Julie three times per week, or on your own time.
Choose your wave time during registration, 8:00, 9:00 or 10:00 am. This indoor event will be held on treadmills at the Brainerd Family YMCA. If you prefer to run your 5k outdoors, you can do that on your own route, but on the same day.
Schedule:
Sunday February 27, 2022.
Choose a time slot between 8:00 am-10:00 am to complete your indoor 5k on a treadmill. Each wave has 10 available spots.
If you choose to run on your own that same day, select that at registration.
Cost:
This program will cost $15.00 and include 8 weeks of training, race event at the YMCA, shirt and other fun sponsor items. Best of all, the satisfaction of completing your 1st 5k!
All money raised will go to the Brainerd Family YMCA youth sports programs. Registration is $15.00 for ages 7 and up.
Swag:
All participants will receive a shirt (if registered by Monday, February 14th). You will also receive a swag bag from our race sponsors.
Finisher Award:
All finishers will receive a ribbon to commemorate your 1st 5k finish!
Three Simple Steps to Participate:
1. Register and select the wave of your choice.(Click on REGISTER NOW in upper right hand corner of page)
8am heat 1- 10 (arrive between 7:30 and 7:45) / Awards at 9:15
9am heat 2- 10 (arrive between 8:30 and 8:45) / Awards at 10:15
10am heat 3- 10 (arrive between 9:30 and 9:45) / Awards at 11:15
2. Start training with Coach Julie, or on your own, beginning January 3rd. Follow your training program for 8 weeks and run your 5k on February 27th.
3. Upload your time to Its Your Race and print off your Finisher Certificate. Look for your race day email Saturday February 26th with all of your race day instructions and how to upload your times.
